June 12, 2015 - Written by Cabays

Dubai- U.A.E (Cabays Media) – The presidential hopeful for the Somaliland’s Welfare and Justice Party (UCID), Jamal Ali Hussein has accepted and welcomed the apology given by the former president and UDUB leader to him and his partner in the UCID presidential candidacy.

The apology from the former president of Somaliland comes after he has returned home yesterday and at his arrival at Hargeisa’s airport he said he wanted to apologize for his ‘blatant disregard’ to those who sought the leadership of UDUB as his potential predecessor and bided to lead the later wiped-out party, but instead he favoured to handed over the leadership to Ali Waranadde whom he described him as a man with no ambition.

In a short statement posted by Jamal Ali Hussein on his social network page- the Facebook, the UCID party presidential hopeful cited the former president, Daahir Riyaale’s contribution and recognized the unprecedented move for acknowledging his past mistakes.

“So many mistakes and injustices have taken place in this country and no one has taken the responsibility for it, and that is why we don’t learn from them and don’t correct our mistakes” Said candidate Jamal Ali Hussein speaking of the mistakes happen in Somailand but no one seeks to atone them.

“May Allah make us those who are always just” added the non religious UCID party presidential hopeful.

“President Daahir Riyaale has today proved us that he is visionary leader. It is very difficult to African leaders to accept their mistakes” Said Jamal Ali Hussein who praised the former president for apologizing the terrible blunder he made during his last days of the UDUB party leadership by ignoring and disregarding the bid made by Jamal and his political partner for the UDUB leadership.

“Let us all see if our politicians come forward and accept their mistakes” added the UCID presidential hopeful who questions the integrity of the current Somaliland politicians who have customary of making mistakes but not coming forward to apologize when they have to.

“I acknowledge president Riyaale how he built our democracy by holding five elections without bloodshed and his honesty with the Somaliland cause, I pray that our leaders to be those with integrity” concluded his statement posted on his social network page and circulated by followers and some media websites.

The apology made by the former president and the statement released by the UCID presidential candidate both indicate their political maturity and can also predict the future relationship between Somaliland’s longest served president and the youngest presidential candidate Somaliland ever had.

‘Apologies have the power to heal humiliations and grudges, remove the desire for vengeance, and generate forgiveness on the part of the offended parties.’
