July 7, 2015 - Written by Cabays

Hargeisa- SL (Cabay Media) – The chairman of the ruling Somaliland party. Kulmiye. Muse Bihi Abdi has strongly rejected the accusations made by the opposition leaders in the wake of the alleged WikiLeaks revelations.

Speaking to Star TV the Kulmiye chairman said “The claim by one of the respected man of the country for saying the country has being sold out is something unnecessary to mention and Somaliland is not for sale, it can not be sold”

“The exaggerated issue of the letter said was found on the WikiLeaks is something we know nothing about it”

Dismissing the idea of Saudi had contact with Somaliland government, chairman Muse Bihi Abdi said “There was no our own delegation, whether a president or foreign minister who went to the Saudi, there was no meeting between the Saudi foreign minister and our former foreign minister then, and there was no meeting either between Somaliland and Saudi”

“It is unfortunate to hear the words said by the chairman of Waddani party… it is him to provide the evidence of (what WikiLeaks revealed)” the Kulmiye chairman said in responding to the oppositions claims of the Somaliland was “sold by the current government” by allegedly signing an agreement with Somalia’s TFG for a federal deal.

“We as Kulmiye party are not the kind of people could even begin to contemplate the that kind of (signing for federalism) thing….”

Questioning the motives of Waddani party accusations, the Kulmiye chairman said “We believe the persons put this kid of thing (the WikikLeaks revelations)  in the public domain is something they have in their minds…”

This week’s hottest news of the discovery of the WikiLeaks revelations of Kulmiye government allegedly signed an agreement with the FTG of Somalia is put both  positive and negative spin on the whole story.

On the other hand, the Kulmiye chairman also defended the former foreign minister, Mohamed Omar who is in the centre of the controversy caused by the accusations traded by him and the presidential minister over the WikiLeaks revelations.

“The issue regarding the former foreign minister whom was smeared with criticism, I think he is young educated man who has done good job during the time he served  for (the country) and deserves to be commended” said chairman Muse Abdi.

The Kulmiye narrative of simply dismissing the WikiLeaks revelations seems attracting more criticism and now it is taking new turn as opposition parties and the ruling one are trading endless accusations.

Source closed to the former foreign minister, Mohamed Omar was quoted as saying: The former minister has acknowledged his mistake after he lashed out at minister Hirsi Hassan and accused of him smearing him and damaging their party’s credibility and he is going to apologize to Hirsi publicly for bursting out in anger over the WikiLeaks revelations before he made sure what actually minister Hirsi has said about him and whether he accused him for anything.
