Hargeysa -Somaliland ( Cabays Media) Somaliland’s president Ahmed Siilaanyo has received US ambassador to Kenya and Somaliland, Amb. Brain H. Philips and the Turkish ambassador to Somalia Amb, Olgan Bekar.

The president had meeting with both ambassadors in his office and there are no details of what is been discussed other than what is being said at the media briefing after the meeting where the presidential minister, Hersi Hassan and the Turkish  ambassador briefly explained the issues raised in the meeting.

“We have discussed the security issues and areas of developments where we can help (somaliland)” said amb. Philips speaking to the media at the presidential palace.  Somaliland is concern the new security and refugee influx from the troubled Yemen.

“They are here to offer help for Somaliland since there are new insecurities from the Yemeni conflict..” Said minister Hirsi Hassan. “We might not have recognition as state but we’re dealt like and talk like respected (state)” added minister Hirsi explaining the ambassadors visit to Hargeisa. However it is not clear whether election for Somaliland have also been raised in the meeting  since the US  partly funds the democratisation process in Somaliland with the British and the EU, and less than a week ago British and EU delegates were also hosted by president Siilaanyo and reports confirmed that up-coming elections were the main discussion.

Sources closed to the president’s office also report that the halted Somalia Talks were discussed in today’s meeting and both ambassadors came to deliver their messages from their respective presidents and to pressure Somaliland to reverse its decision of not to sit with Somalia since it wants to include individuals hail from Somaliland to its negotiating team with Somaliland.

The foreign minister, Mohamed Bihi was not at this meeting, and reports say he is in Addis Ababa, but two other ministers from the Mining,  and National Resources and the National Planning among others were accompanied with president Siilaanyo’s meeting with the ambassadors.
